Traveling Solar TechnicianPrimoris Renewable Energy is seeking a full-time Traveling Solar Technician. This position requires overnight travel on a frequent basis depending on company needs. The Traveling Solar Technician must have the ability to work safely at high quality with electrical & mechanical components, issues and concerns.Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:Perform a full range of diagnosis, repair, maintenance, and oversight of issues that may arise at a solar farm across the USAbility to diagnose a full range of solar service issuesProvide outstanding customer experience. The Solar Technician will be customer facing and must maintain a professional demeanor and appearance at all timesAbility to travel using own vehicle or in company owned vehicleParticipate in staff meetings and assist with broader company initiativesProvide daily reportsEffectively use hand and power toolsEffectively use a laptop and a variety of programs/applicationsLearn and understand basic low voltage electrical systemsOperate machinery/equipment such as skid steers, mini-excavators, backhoes, rock drills, jack hammers, compressors, generators, winchesTroubleshoot technical issuesClean, maintain, and inventory company owned tools/equipmentAct professionally in remote areas, on active construction sites, or in the officeThink creatively and encourage open-mindednessContinually drive self-improvement and motivate excellence in coworkersWork within and ensure strict adherence to all safety and environmental proceduresMaintain a valid driver's license and clean driving recordDrive long distances in heavy work trucks, often with trailers in towBasic Qualifications:Minimum 1 year working in the renewable energy industry or relevant experience from another industryGreat safety track recordKnowledge of all major solar and energy storage productsTraining on top tier inverters a plusMust be highly organized and punctualExcellent written and verbal communication skillsMust have a valid driver's license and pass background check and physicalMust have the ability to work though issues and troubleshoot safelyAccommodate frequent travelWork as a member of a small team, as well as independently in the fieldMust be able to work in various positions, including, but not limited to: standing, stooping, bending over, sitting, kneeling and squatting for extended periods of time. Have full range of mobility in upper and lower bodyLift, pull and push materials and equipment to complete assigned job tasksLift 50 pounds of weight frequently throughout assigned workdaySustain prolonged exposure to extreme weather and environmental conditionsPhysical Requirements:Must comply with client safety requirements (e.g., clean-shaven, long sleeves, steel-toe boots).Must pass a physical exam if required.Able to: Climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding, and stairways.Stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and work at heights or in confined spaces (e.g., towers, vessels, excavations).Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
